Being thankful

Since I wrote the last post, hoping to have a wonderful October...well let's just say October had other things in mind. Aside from some financial setbacks, the biggest loss was that of my maternal grandfather on October 9th. He was 92 and had a wonderful life, and we knew he was reunited with my grandmother in Heaven, but nonetheless it was a hard loss for all of us. His photo is below. We love you Grandpa.

It was through the help of God and wonderful friends and family that we made it through October, and have had a considerably better November. Minus my husband getting rear-ended in our SUV. However it was fixable, nobody was hurt, and that is what car insurance is for, yes? In the meantime, while we wait for it to come back from the collision shop, we are in a rental Jeep Cherokee 4 x 4 that is getting us around quite nicely after an early snowstorm that hit. We've had 7 inches of snow in two days, the most we've seen in some time.  A few photos of the wonderland:

That's my Hyundai Sonata you see parked in the driveway, where it is staying until the temps go above freezing. We got it after being in a car accident last year that totalled our mini-van, so there is NO WAY I am taking my little sedan out in this stuff. We're supposed to see some relief mid-Thanksgiving Day with a high of 40 degrees F. That will feel absolutely tropical. According to weather.com it is 16 degrees F out right now. Brrrrrr.

I wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am thankful for much, but most of all for the love of an amazing husband and my awesome kids. Having that, along with my faith in God, I can get through anything. Bring on the holidays!
