Visit to Northwest Trek

Yesterday, I took the kids to Northwest Trek, a great wildlife park that's about an hour-ish southeast of us. I haven't been there in years, nor has Matt, and I'm not sure that we ever have taken Kayla.

We started off by riding the tram that takes you on a tour of the area the free-roaming animals (also known as the herbivores :)) reside on.

Bison:

*My* wildlife in the tram with me:

Baby bison!

Moose! We saw four out of the five moose in the park during the tour.

Roosevelt elk:

Bighorn sheep:

One stubborn ol' goat (technically, probably a bighorn sheep) that likes to hang out by the tram road and get attention.

On to the rest of the park...Mr. Skunk is confined (as are the rest of the animals that follow), for good reason. Le Pew!

Strike a pose, Mr. River Otter.

These cougars were massive. Look at those paws. Beautiful cats, but I was really enjoying that barrier between us.

The gray wolf. His pack was playful while we were watching:

Shh don't wake the bear! (Brown bear)

Golden Eagle:

Bald Eagle:
Western Toad:

Finally, the homosapien known as Sooz, whom, after a day at the park, had a hungry teen and pre-teen in the car wanting to try the new Sonic in town.
