Twilight weekend part deux

Finally, I'm getting to the second part of our Twilight weekend in Forks and LaPush on the 18th and 19th. It's too hot to do anything else at the moment *whew*. I've got a cool drink and a fan blowing on me so let's wrap this two-parter up.
Last I left you, we had visited Bella's truck at the Forks Chamber of Commerce.
Another photo opportunity awaits you at the Forks welcome sign, found on the right as you first drive into Forks on Hwy 101. There's an area to pull over and a ramp to walk up to assist you in getting that photo. Thanks to tour guide Travis for taking the below photo, and to my friends Lois and Patti...I'm not sure which one of you I swiped this photo from, but thanks :)!

Also in town, the place where Bella's dad Charlie works, otherwise known as the Forks Police Department. (The tour does take you in the lobby, where they have a display case of Twilight items, but trust me, you're not missing anything if you skip that part.)

Headed out to LaPush, you will find the Three Rivers Resort, where we stopped after our beach visit for Edward Sundaes and Jacob Black (blackberry) and Vampire (strawberry) Milkshakes. This is also the home of the "treaty line" sign:

The other side of the sign:

I shared some pictures of LaPush with you in my previous post...they really don't do justice to how beautiful it is. If you find yourself on the Olympic Peninsula this summer, I really recommend the beaches there.

The town of Forks has really embraced Twilight Fever and ran with it. The hotel we stayed at had Twilight-themed rooms (I didn't stay in it but someone else from our crew did):

Eventually I DID find Edward (at a store in Forks):

But later I found him in the corner with Bella:

Forks has declared the weekend of September 12-13, 2009 to be Stephenie Meyer Day. (Technically, shouldn't that be Stephenie Meyer weekend? But I digress.) They had a heavy turnout last year for a little town (see article here) so expect the little town to be packed if you go.

Time to get some chores done around the oven that is my home today. We're supposed to hit 100 degrees tomorrow, and potentially an all time high for Seattle? *whew*

how fun! Sorry you're sweating it out. I heard you hit 103 yesterday and broke a record. Yikes.
